Transforming the World 101
- Learn how we engage with higher education to cultivate critical skills
The Intel® Higher Education Program focuses on advancing innovation in key areas of technology, and developing a pipeline of world-class technical talents to meet the increasing worldwide demand for highly skilled workers. Intel Malaysia works with selected local universities to expand the curriculum, engage in focused research and encourage students to pursue a range of opportunities for technical studies and research.
The TRIZ methodology (or Systematic Problem Solving) was successfully introduced as a subject in Malaysian Universities through a strong industry-academia collaboration program by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia, Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC), local institutes of higher learning, Malaysia TRIZ Innovation Association and Intel Malaysia.
Innovate Malaysia Design Competition (IMDC)
Intel Malaysia has been working with Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC), Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), TalentCorp and other MNCs to organize the IMDC since 2011. This multi-disciplinary engineering design competition aims to develop industry-relevant technical talents to support the growth of high-tech electronic industries. The competition also promotes a culture a continuous innovation and enhances the students’ knowledge and skill-sets in practical engineering design.
As one of the founders of the TalentCorp E&E Sectoral Working Group, Intel Malaysia has been collaborating with TalentCorp since 2011 to develop key initiatives on attracting, nurturing and retaining talents for the industry. We have also influenced the development and participation of post-graduate apprenticeship programs and recruitment fairs to help raise awareness of potential careers and improve employability.
